Our newly built, architect designed, craftsman cottage style home was designed with your comfort and privacy in mind. Our home features Hand-crafted artisan beds, luxurious tropical linens, spa bath amenities, fireplaces, elegant Hawaiian furnishings and a sunny open great room; all featured in a contemporary, yet cozy setting. Relax and unwind in style, while you take in the expansive views and enchanting sounds of the peaceful rainforest and flower gardens.

The Wild Ginger is a sunny room named for the sweet-scented flowers that grow abundantly in the Volcano area. Complete with its own private bath, intimate views of the surrounding fern forest, and a romantic corner fireplace; the Wild Ginger room is the place to relax, unwind and rejuvenate your spirit. The Wild Ginger room is a treasure trove of Pacific- Asian influenced furnishings and artifacts, reminiscent of Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong and the South Pacific. Enjoy sweet dreams in your elegant and contemporary Bamboo and teak crafted queen size sleigh bed. Snuggle up under your cozy down comforter and tropical bedding. Wild Ginger features a private bath, a combo TV-DVD player. Original artwork and photographs grace the walls.

The spacious Enchanted Forest Studio is named for the beautiful native Hawaiian forest, our home is nestled in. When you see the amazing tree ferns here you will indeed know why we call it an enchanted forest experience.
Expect elves any moment ! The private upstairs Studio, located away from the main house, provides a bird's eye view into the forest, a private bath with an extra large shower, an outdoor balcony, a delightful corner fireplace, beverage- stocked refrigerator, and a combo TV-DVD player. The centerpiece of the Enchanted Forest Studio is a dream -the -night- away handcrafted and colorful queen size Twig and Alder bed, finely crafted by master woodworker Ernest Thompson and adorned with tropical bedding. There is a day bed with trundle; this is a perfect room for a romantic couple, friends traveling together or a family with children.

The Kipuka Room

A "Kipuka" is the Hawaiian name for an island of forest spared when lava flowed around it. The Kipuka room has a private bath with shower and an outdoor deck that overlooks the garden. Pictures and artwork representative of a kipuka forest alive with ferns, ohia lehua, and colorful tropical birds grace the walls. For those chilly nights you can snuggle under a cozy down comforter and awaken to the sounds of the forest.

The Royal Orchid Suite is named for wild orchids you will see growing both in our rainforest and in the nearby Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and active volcano, Kilauea. The Royal Orchid Suite is a private, large master suite, situated away from the main part of the house, with intimate views of the native fern rainforest. Indulge your senses and your imagination in a romantic, sensuously-draped, handcrafted Teak canopy King bed with elegant tropical bedding. Snuggle down deep under your cozy down comforter dewhile the glow of the fireplace traces dancing shadows across the wall. For a thoroughly romantic and relaxing evening, the Royal Orchid Suite room has an elegant tiled bath with a Jacuzzi style tub. Try a candlelit herbal aroma therapy bath while listening to soft music. Emerge from your bath and wrap yourself in the warmth of heated towels, then slip into thick and cozy bathrobes. Enjoy the sensuous glow of the fireplace, an in-room movie, and a cup of freshly brewed, relaxing herbal tea .
French doors lead to an outdoor deck where you can sit and enjoy the fragrant smell of wild forest ginger or exotic tuberoses, or just take in views of the magical rainforest. A collection of Hawaiian botanical prints and original artwork delight and sooth the spirit. The Great Room at The Bamboo Orchid
We invite you to kick off your shoes and relax island-style in our expansive living -great room. Two stories of windows create an airy room filled with natural light and views to the magical forest. This cozy room features gleaming red prairie pine floors, a large lava rock fireplace with a fragrant Ohia wood fire, a comfortable couch and banana-leaf armchairs to lounge on and a game table for chess, cards or backgammon.
An elegant mahogany buffet is set up as a self-serve beverage bar where you can mix an Italian soda, enjoy a tropical juice or uncork your own favorite wine.
Choose a book or movie from our extensive in-house library.
Here you will also find information on local attractions and menu's from local restaurants. The walls are graced with paintings, photos and hand- crafted works of art.
Reunions and Retreats
For special party occasions, reunions or retreats, both our
Bamboo Orchid Cottage home and our nearby private vacation rental home, Volcano Tree- House, may be rented, with advance notice.
This can accommodate a total of up to 20 people.
Your rental will include breakfast preparations and special amenities. There is a three-night minimum stay on entire home rentals. We can also arrange for a special catered lunch or dinner for an additional charge.
